Job description

As a senior designer at Daylight, you need to effectively combine creativity, craft, and functionality to produce beautiful design experiences across our digital products, as well as creative and content storytelling. 

This role is for a senior designer with skills at the intersection of graphic and digital, with a strong focus on bringing craft into our digital products and experiences. You’ll be required to bring design systems and visual identities to life across websites, apps, brand partnerships, campaigns, and content products. 

Working closely with our craft and creative departments, this role will lead the ideation and development of design thinking across a broad spectrum of our clients, including high-profile international health organisations, local market brand leaders, and NGOs. 

Key expectations of the role 

Information hierarchy: You have a keen eye and understanding for prioritising and representing complex information in a clear, accessible, and digestible way across various channels. 

Detail-focused: You are obsessed with the detail and craft of our creative output. Working closely with our creative leaders, you passionately oversee the development, and application of design systems from ideation to go-live.

Digital obsessive: Within the studio, we work across a broad range of channels and formats, but always with a focus on digital storytelling at our core. Being across new formats, AI technologies, and ways of bringing design to life in digital environments is key. 

Problem solver: You feel comfortable being uncomfortable, tackling problems, and working with the creative, production, and account service teams to seek out information and present solutions. 

Team player: We have an incredibly collaborative team culture at Daylight, working together to tackle client briefs and challenges; having a strong team-focused mindset is key to our way of working. 

Specific responsibilities: 

  • Design identity development across a range of local and international pitch opportunities
  • Working with our creative teams to build our design systems based on conceptual ideas and art direction recommendations 
  • Working with the director of product design to ensure design systems are seamlessly woven throughout our digital experiences and accessibility and functionality is paramount to our design process 
  • Creating design identities across various digital products, including mobile apps, websites, and media platforms
  • Creating design identities across a range of campaign opportunities, extending brand guidelines, and bringing those to life in new and exciting ways 
  • Creating brand guidelines systems for clients that work across a range of channels and formats 
  • Working collaboratively with the design director, director of product design, and craft team across projects to deliver highly crafted design outputs and thinking 
  • Experience working with both custom-built platforms as well as off-the-shelf products, such as Webflow

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of agency or digital studio experience 
  • Proficiency in Figma, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
  • Experience across both graphic and digital projects 
  • Understanding of accessibility requirements
