At 4 Church Road, Wimbledon Park, London lies the most photographed patch of grass in history. Spanning 78 by 36 feet, it’s been the stage for not only the oldest tennis tournament in the world but a progression of historical, social, and cultural change. Our challenge? To turn 100 years of Centre Court history into high-end digital artworks available on the blockchain.
Led by Glorious, Aotearoa’s premium digital NFT marketplace, we collaborated with Wimbledon and created a collection of 10 digital commemorative artworks that captured each decade of the last 100 years while also building the platform to host the ballot to purchase them through. Working with expert archivists, calligraphers and retouchers, we dove deep through time and tennis’ illustrious history to tell the stories of each decade, unearthing the tales, trials and tribulations of the game’s greatest stars and inimitable place in history.
From a sophisticated tech build integrating Glorious’ CENNZ blockchain to an entire through-the- line marketing campaign, this project sold out and with demand so high, a further open edition was released to the general public for purchase.
